Beaches Pool Supplies in Cairns began—like all great businesses—by addressing an issue in the industry. Original owners, David and Sandra, had their own ionised pool and they were having issues finding a pool shop that could help them fix it. After doing their own research, they realised other pool shops have been giving them the wrong advice. As such, they decided to open their own pool shop in 2004. Right from day one, David and Sandra have built lasting relationships with their customers and suppliers, using quality brands Pool Pro, Maytronics, Spa Electrics, Pentair and Dontek.

In April 2023, the business was sold to current owners Marion (Maz) and Jason McMillan, who, with the help and mentoring of Dave and Sandra and the support of their awesome team of staff, are set to continue building the Beaches name and growing the business into the future. Jason and Maz have always been passionate members of the communities they’ve lived in over the years, whether it was their hometown of Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Adelaide or the Far South Coast of NSW in Merimbula. They have always been involved in their kids’ sports clubs, from coaching to committee work, as well as being active members of community groups and supporting local causes.

So, when they finally moved to Cairns after talking about it for some years, they were thrilled to get the chance to not only be part of an awesome local community but also to own a great local community business.
